Ano Kastania (Greek: η Άνω Καστανιά) (Ano Kastaneas Local Community - VOION Municipal Section), belongs to MONEMVASIAS Municipality, LAKONIAS Regional Unity located in Peloponnisos region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “i Ano Kastanea”. The seat of the municipality is Molaoi and belongs to the geographical region of Peloponnesus.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Ano Kastania belonged to Ano Kastaneas Local District, the former municipality of VOÏON the prefecture of LAKONIAS.
