Platania (Greek: τα Πλατάνια) (Platanion Local Community - SELLON Municipal Section), belongs to DODONIS Municipality, IOANNINON Regional Unity located in Epirus region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “ta Platania”. The seat of the municipality is Agia Kyriaki and belongs to the geographical region of Epirus.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Platania belonged to Platanion Local District, the former municipality of SELLON the prefecture of IOANNINON.
