Chersonisos (Greek: η Χερσόνησος) (Chersonisou Municipal Community - CHERSONISOU Municipal Section) belongs to CHERSONISOU Municipality, IRAKLEIOU Regional Unity located in Crete region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “i Chersonisos”. The seat of the municipality is Gournes and belongs to the geographical region of Crete.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Chersonisos belonged to Chersonisou Local District, the former municipality of CHERSONISOU the prefecture of IRAKLEIOU.
