Varypetro (Greek: το Βαρύπετρο) (Varypetrou Local Community - THERISOU Municipal Section), belongs to CHANION Municipality, CHANION Regional Unity located in Crete region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “to Varypetron”. The seat of the municipality is Chania and belongs to the geographical region of Crete.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Varypetro belonged to Varypetrou Local District, the former municipality of THERISOU the prefecture of CHANION.
