Vrontou (Greek: η Βροντού) (Vrontous Municipal Community - DIOU Municipal Section), belongs to DIOU - OLYMPOU Municipality, PIERIAS Regional Unity located in Central Macedonia region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “i Vrontou”. The seat of the municipality is Litochoro and belongs to the geographical region of Macedonia.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Vrontou belonged to Vrontous Local District, the former municipality of DIOU the prefecture of PIERIAS.
