Amaranto (Greek: το Αμάραντο) (Amarantou Local Community - KASTANIAS Municipal Section), belongs to KALAMPAKAS Municipality, TRIKALON Regional Unity located in Thessalia region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “to Amaranton”. The seat of the municipality is Kalampaka and belongs to the geographical region of Thessalia.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Amaranto belonged to Amarantou Local District, the former municipality of KASTANIAS the prefecture of TRIKALON.
