Askania (islet) (Greek: τα Ασκανιά) (Thiras Municipal Community - THIRAS Municipal Section), belongs to THIRAS Municipality, THIRAS Regional Unity located in South Aegean region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “ta Askania”. The seat of the municipality is Thira and belongs to the geographical region of Aegean Islands.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Askania belonged to Thiras Local District, the former municipality of THIRAS the prefecture of KYKLADON.
