Kastanies (Greek: οι Καστανιές) (Agiou Polykarpou Local Community - RACHON Municipal Section), belongs to IKARIAS Municipality, IKARIAS Regional Unity located in North Aegean region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “oi Kastanies”. The seat of the municipality is Agios Kirykos and belongs to the geographical region of Aegean Islands.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Kastanies belonged to Agiou Polykarpou Local District, the former municipality of RACHON the prefecture of SAMOU.
