Kastanies (Greek: οι Καστανιές) (Ioulidos Municipal Community), belongs to KEAS Municipality, KEAS - KYTHNOU Regional Unity located in South Aegean region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “oi Kastanies”. The seat of the municipality is Kea and belongs to the geographical region of Aegean Islands.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Kastanies belonged to Ioulidos Local District, the former municipality of KEAS (IOULIDOS) the prefecture of KYKLADON.
