Kourounes (Greek: οι Κουρούνες) (Neapoleos Municipal Community - NEAPOLIS Municipal Section) belongs to AGIOU NIKOLAOU Municipality, LASITHIOU Regional Unity located in Crete region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “ai Kourounai”. The seat of the municipality is Agios Nikolaos and belongs to the geographical region of Crete.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Kourounes belonged to Neapoleos Local District, the former municipality of NEAPOLIS the prefecture of LASITHIOU.
