Machaires (islet) (Greek: οι Μαχαίρες) (Donousis Municipal Community - DONOUSIS Municipal Section), belongs to NAXOU KAI MIKRON KYKLADON Municipality, NAXOU Regional Unity located in South Aegean region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “oi Machaires”. The seat of the municipality is Naxos and belongs to the geographical region of Aegean Islands.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Machaires belonged to Donousis Local District, the former community of DONOUSIS the prefecture of KYKLADON.
