Megalo Tympano (Greek: το Μεγάλο Τύμπανο) (Toxoton Municipal Community), belongs to TOPEIROU Municipality, XANTHIS Regional Unity located in Eastern Macedonia - Thrace region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “to Mega Tympanon”. The seat of the municipality is Evlalo and belongs to the geographical region of Thrace.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Megalo Tympano belonged to Toxoton Local District, the former municipality of TOPEIROU the prefecture of XANTHIS.
