Petrochori (Greek: το Πετροχώρι) (Petrochoriou Local Community - KOURITON Municipal Section) belongs to AMARIOU Municipality, RETHYMNOU Regional Unity located in Crete region, according to the administrative division of Greece as altered by “Kallikratis” project.

Its official name is “to Petrochorion”. The seat of the municipality is Agia Foteini and belongs to the geographical region of Crete.

During the former administrative division of Greece (“Kapodistrias” project) and until 2010, Petrochori belonged to Petrochoriou Local District, the former municipality of KOURITON the prefecture of RETHYMNIS.
